The video shows the dog hugging the journalist’s leg to beg for help

The loyalty and love we get from a dog can hardly ever be matched by a human. Despite the selfless love we recieve from these furry four-legged creatures, there have been innumerable instances where these innocent animals are subjected to abuse and often abandoned, left to fend for themselves. However, dogs always look for a human companion because after all, they are man’s best friend. And a video posted on Reddit shows just how adorably convincing they can be.

A journalist who was out covering a story about a dog shelter had hardly expected to return home with a rescue. But that’s exactly what happened when one of the shelter dogs approached him and wrapped its limbs around his leg. The unexpected meeting motivated the reporter to adopt the dog. According to the video, a dog approached the reporter who reciprocated with affection.

The dog did not move but continued the hug even when the reporter stood dumbstruck for minutes. Later, he decided to embrace the dog and return the affection. He began petting the dog and giving him the love that he deserved. The encounter between the dog and the reporter was so heartwarming that people began recording and taking videos. Meanwhile, the dog tightly held on to the reporter’s legs as he continued petting. The neglected animal looked up to the man and he reciprocated with warmth. Their connection was so strong and emotional that the reporter decided to do something special.

He had not thought of adopting a dog before coming to the shelter but the encounter with the dog changed everything. He decided to open his house for the dog and show the pet some love. The video captured a lot of attention on social media. The instant friendship was relatable to many people. One person wrote, “That look at the end like…you’re mine! I have a rescue and let me tell you, its like they think they have to give you all the love they have every time they see you or else you’re [going to] take them back. My pittie gives me that look when he wants to cuddle….so we cuddle all the time lol.”

Many others shared their experience of finding their dog pals at rescue shelters. One wrote, “This is exactly what happened to me. I woke up one Saturday morning and my old roommate asked me if I wanted to head down to the shelter to kill time. I ended up finding my best friend.”

Another wrote, “My live-in girlfriend (now wife) had talked about wanting to get a dog, I was hesitant but agreed to just go meet some at a foster home. When we got in, one dog came up to her and put her paws on my wife’s shoulders, and just nuzzled her neck. At that moment I just thought to myself “well, looks like we are getting a dog”.

Some spoke of how they always wanted to adopt but their fears of not giving their 100 percent is what stopped them. “I love the idea of going to an adoption center and finding a dog that I just couldn’t leave without. But being entirely honest and as heart-wrenching as it would be. I don’t think I could do it or justify it. That video tho ;_;.” wrote another.
